Six harvests supported self-help groups, school fees, and safe houses for girls escaping early marriage and FGM — work that gave women in West Pokot a livelihood of their own.
Every fall since 2012, apples that would have been left in the orchard have been picked, bagged, and turned into support for a partner doing hard, patient work somewhere in the world. Two projects have carried that support so far — and in 2026, the harvest turns toward a new one.

The Center for Experimentation and Training in Agroforestry trialed crops that could survive drought and poor soil, then handed the seed and the know-how to small farmers facing food insecurity.
